Why do I see a blank screen when opening the Wondery App on Android Auto?
If you see a blank screen or a screen with a loading icon when opening the Wondery app, try the following options:
Log In
You may be logged out, ensure you are signed into the Wondery app on your mobile device.
Enable Permissions
- Connect your mobile device to Android Auto
- Open the Wondery app on your mobile device and ensure you're logged into your Wondery account
- When the Android Auto permissions notification appears in the app, select 'Android Settings'
- When the Android Settings screen appears, find and select Wondery
- Enable 'Allow to display over other apps' (Note: this is referred to as 'Draw over other apps' on some devices)
If you do not see the Android Auto permissions notification in the Wondery app, follow these steps:
- Open Android Settings on your mobile device
- Select Apps > Special app access > Display over other apps
- Find and select Wondery
- Enable 'Allow to display over other apps' (Note: this is referred to as 'Draw over other apps' on some devices)
If the 'Allow to display over other apps' toggle is disabled (greyed out), follow these steps:
- Connect your device to Android Auto
- Visit this Android Help page > follow the instruction in the 'Allow restricted settings' section
- Navigate back to the main Android Settings screen on your mobile device
- Select Apps > Special app access > Display over other apps
- Find and select Wondery
- Enable 'Allow to display over other apps' (Note: this is referred to as 'Draw over other apps' on some devices)
Why can't I see the Wondery App on Android Auto?
Update the Wondery app
Go to this Google Play Help page for detailed steps on how to update the app.
Enable the Wondery app to display in the Android Auto launcher
- Open Android Settings on your mobile device
- Select Apps > Android Auto > Additional settings in the app > Customize Launcher
- Find and select Wondery
- If you plan to use Wondery on Android Auto frequently, drag Wondery to the top of the list on the Customize Launcher screen
- Disconnect and reconnect your phone to Android Auto
Ensure the Wondery app has not been temporarily disabled
To save your battery life, some phones temporarily disable apps you haven’t used in a while. Go to this Android Auto Help page for detailed steps on how to re-enable the app.
I selected an episode, why does the player not update with the selected episode?
You may be offline. Ensure your device is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
If you're offline, reconnect and try again.
What if the initial troubleshooting steps didn't work?
If you've tried the basic troubleshooting steps and your issue is not resolved, attempt these options:
- Disconnect and reconnect your phone to Android Auto
- Force stop and restart the Wondery app on your mobile device
- Restart your mobile device

To listen in your vehicle immediately you can connect your phone via Bluetooth, USB, or AUX cable to your car stereo and control playback from the app on your phone. For safety, please don't use the controls on the app while you're driving.
